REVISED GED TEST FEE

Superintendent’s Memo 177-11 was released 6/24/11 changing the price of GED Testing effective July 1, 2011.  The new price will be $58.00 for the complete battery and partial tests and retests will be $10.00 per subject.  You will find the memo at:  http://www.doe.virginia.gov/administrators/superintendents_memos/2011/177-11.shtml

REMINDER

The Virginia Department of Education Office of Adult Education and Literacy has announced that GED ® test fees are increasing effective July 1, 2011 .  For more information on the increase see the following press release: Press Release for GED Test Price Increase For more information on the new test fee structure : Test Fee Chart IMPORTANT:  Most programs in the West Piedmont Region require registration a minimum of 10 days before the testing date!

Who produces the GED Tests? The GED Tests are developed, delivered, and safeguarded by content specialists, researchers, psychometricians, and other staff of GED® Testing Service, a nonprofit program of the American Council on Education®. The tests are owned by ACE. How does the GED testing program work? The GED testing program is an international partnership involving GED Testing Service, each of the 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, the Canadian provinces and territories, the U.S. insular areas, the U.S. military and federal correctional institutions, and the veterans administration hospitals. GED Testing Service establishes the test administration procedures and passing standard. All jurisdictions administer the GED Tests and award their high school credentials to adults who meet the GED Tests passing standards and any other additional jurisdictional requirements.
